Litter Prevention Poster Competition
Every year KSB sponsors the Keep Sedona Beautiful "Litter Prevention Poster Competition" open to Sedona area elementary schools. The theme of this year's Competition was "Zero Waste" and was coordinated with KSB's sponsorship of a Zero Waste Community Workshop. These competitions always prompt students to craft words and images of wisdom and creativity, and this year was no exception. Students from Big Park Community School, West Sedona School, Sedona Charter School and Sedona Red Rock High School all contributed and created art work that provided their interpretation of the theme "Zero Waste."
A panel of judges selected first and second place winners in each of the grade groups K - 2, 3 - 5, 6 - 8 and 9 - 12:
- In the K - 2 group, Natasha Wisniewski, a student at the West Sedona School, took first place.
- In the 3 - 5 group, Gerard Regorgo, a student at the Big Park Community School, took first place and Kaycee Pearson, a student at the Sedona Charter School, took second place.
- In the 6 - 8 group, Mallory Lamparter took first place and Kevin Schweiss took second place from West Sedona School.
- In the 9 - 12 group, Jorge Landaverde took first place and Samuel Magaziner took second place. Both are students at the Sedona Red Rock High School.
