2009-10 Winners Gallery2009 All Entries

Since its inception in 1972 KSB has been dedicated to “preserving the wonder” of Sedona. Their education and advocacy activities and goals range from land preservation to litter lifting. The aim of the contest is to “Capture the Wonder” of this Red Rock region. KSB photo contest member and board President, Stephen DeVol notes, “ What better way to “preserve the wonder’ than to capture it in a photograph?”

For the 2008 contest, photos were professionally judged in three divisions: Professional, Amateur, and Junior for those under age 15. Additionaly, in 2008, Keep Sedona Beautiful added a new category in all three divisions: “Capture the Wonder at Night,” focusing on the unique beauty of Sedona illuminated by the stars and moon. The competition was open to everyone except members of the Keep Sedona Beautiful Board, the contest committee, the judging panel or their families.

The contest rules were slightly modified for the 2009 contest. The Junior division was dropped and the "Capture the Wonder by Night" was folded into the color or black and white categories for both amateur and profeesional. So, for 2009, there are 2 divisions: Amateur and Professional. Within those 2 categories are found both color and black and white. Images were judged on creativity, technique and their relevance to the contest theme, “Capture the Wonder”.

2008 Winner's Gallery2008 All Entries

To further its theme of “Preserving the Wonder of Sedona,” Keep Sedona Beautiful Inc. introduced a photo contest for 2007. The second annual 2008 entry photos were again judged on creativity and their relevance to the contest theme, “Capture the Wonder” of this Red Rock region.

If one should ask “What is the wonder” of this area; the entrants’ photos will help to define it – natural and scenic, perhaps partly man-made, wonders great or small.

Photos were professionally judged in three divisions: professional, amateur, and children in grades K-8. The competition was open to everyone except members of the KSB Board, the contest committee, the judging panel or their families.
