KSB draws your attention to a new working group – Third Act.

The nationwide nonprofit Third Act (ThirdAct.org) is rapidly building a community of experienced Americans over the age of sixty who are determined to change the world for the better by protecting our environment and our democracy. Third Act Arizona (ThirdAct.org/AZ), will launch over Zoom on Thursday May 18, 6:00-7:00pm AZ-PDT.

Attendees at the launch will hear about Arizona’s interrelated environmental and democracy challenges and opportunities from our four speakers:

  • Bill McKibben, environmentalist and author, founder of Third Act and the first global grassroots climate campaign, 350.org
  • Hon. Kris Mayes, newly elected Arizona Attorney General and former Chair of the Arizona Corporation Commission
  • Ginger Sykes Torres, State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency in Arizona, environmental and urban planner, and a citizen of the Navajo (Diné) Nation
  • Dr. Diana Liverman, a geographer from University of Arizona who has worked on climate issues for more than 40 years, is the author of several Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports including the pivotal report on limiting warming to 1.5 degrees C, and is a member of the Tucson Climate Action Advisory Council

The Third Act Arizona launch event is free and open to the public. Online registration is required to obtain Zoom link access to the live event, as well as a link to the full recording.
