On July 14, 2021 the Sedona City Council unanimously adopted its first Climate Action Plan. You can view the presentation on the plan made to the City Council by McKenzie Jones by CLICKING HERE. The Climate Action Plan itself is available by CLICKING HERE.
This forward-thinking plan outlines a strategy for coordinating climate preparedness and emissions reductions activities. It considers the projected climate changes in the Verde Valley, the City’s greenhouse gas emissions, community vulnerabilities, and the priorities, ideas and concerns of residents. Finally, it identifies actions that realize the greatest emission reductions or improve community resiliency.
Keep Sedona Beautiful lauds the City of Sedona for recognizing the need to act in order to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We urge other municipalities and governmental entities in Arizona to create and execute their own Climate Action Plans.
