Loni Shapiro is a retired Occupational Therapist with some additional training in Horticultural Therapy. She has been a master gardener in Coconino County since 1998. Retirement pursuits are related to her profession and strong personal interest in gardening. Her volunteer work has included the Arboretum (greenhouse in winter and a docent in the summer), the Olivia White Hospice Home garden (currently the coordinator), the Coconino Master Gardener Assoc. (former secretary and education chair- currently blogmaster), and speaking to a variety of groups (CCC, Flagstaff Garden Club, Home & Garden Show, CMGA) on Container Gardens, Houseplants, Horticultural Therapy, and Herbs. She has also enjoyed working with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (senior companion, AARP Safe Driving instructor).
