Rainwater Harvesting and Hydrozoning with Plants
 
In this lecture, we will explore the balance between passive rainwater harvesting and conventional drip irrigation and how to group plants into hydro-zones to maximize efficiency approaching net-zero water consumption for your landscape.  We will also cover basic active rainwater harvesting systems and how to integrate them into existing and new landscapes.
 
T. BARNABAS KANE  is a second-generation landscape architect with a multidisciplinary background in landscape architecture, planning, and fine art graduating with a BS in Environmental Design from UMass-Amherst, Cum Laude.  Since founding T. Barnabas Kane & Assoc. in Prescott in 1999, he has collaborated on many of north and central Arizona’s most outstanding projects for municipal, educational, commercial and other clients. His 25-plus years of experience includes graphic design, stormwater management, mitigation and restoration, efficient water management, rainwater catchment and sustainable habitat.
