Chris Anderson has been gardening and practicing aspects of sustainable living since 1994.  He worked on organic farms and nature centers  in WV, VA, VT and NY after graduating from Transylvania University.  He then created a market garden business, selling at local farmers markets and restaurants, in his native Ohio.  From 1999-2002, Chris coordinated the Rural Action Environmental Learning Program, a mobile environmental education program bringing the joy of nature to children in four school districts of  rural Appalachian Ohio. Chris has been gardening in the Sedona area since 2005, practicing Permaculture since 2001 and has been a speaker here at the Native Plant Workshop on “Creating Landscapes that Water Themselves” in 2009, “Rainwater Harvesting” in 2010 and “Cultivating the Garden of Your Dreams” in 2014.  He currently is the Garden Center Lead at the ProBuild Garden Center in West Sedona, one of the best sources for native and ornamental plants, gardening supplies and rain harvesting tanks in our region.  Chris enjoys consulting with homeowners and sharing his experience and perspectives through public speaking and workshops.
