Residents of Arizona have an opportunity to comment in the draft 2023 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) recently released by Arizona State Parks and Trails. You can view the draft at AZStateParks.com/SCORP.
Arizona State Parks and Trails notes that “Every five years, the National Park Service requires [them] to update the SCORP to gather information and recommendations that guides in the acquisition, development and management of Arizona outdoor recreation sites and to provide more and improved outdoor recreation opportunities across the state by both governmental and non-governmental recreation providers. Since summer 2021, Arizona State Parks and Trails has been in discussions with outdoor recreation stakeholders and conducting surveys with Arizonans and recreation providers to inform this draft.”
