In 2008, then Governor Janet Napolitano, by Executive Order, declared April as Arizona Water Awareness Month to annually focus Arizona citizens’ attention on water, the state’s most important natural resource.

This year, Covid-19 hijacked April. All of our attention has been focused on the pandemic, and rightly so.

But Arizona has another big worry for the future – water. Unlike the pandemic, shrinking of our water supply is no surprise and is something we can and must prepare for. As we move into the summer and the thermometers already climb into the nineties, KSB suggests we make up for that lost opportunity to focus on WATER, Arizona’s lifeline for the future, and turn our attention to GROUNDWATER issues, specifically, on threats to our groundwater.
